White River Electric is engaged in the process of studying the feasibility of several local hydroelectric facilities within its service territory. White River Electric will continue to keep the Membership up-to-date on the development of potential hydroelectric and other cost-effective, local renewable projects.
Miller Creek Hydro Project
White River Electric’s Miller Creek Ditch Hydro Project, located on Flag Creek/ RBC Road 13, began generating electricity on September 14, 2017.
The project utilizes Miller Creek Ditch water to generate electricity during the irrigation season. “White River Electric wants to thank the Miller Creek Ditch Company and all of the people who helped make this project a success’”, said WREA’s Alan Michalewicz.
“WREA is proud to be a part of a local renewable energy project that benefits WREA and our membership”, added Michalewicz.
WREA hosted an on-site Open House to share more information on the Miller Creek Ditch Hydro Project on Thursday, October 5, 2017.
