WREA Notice Regarding COVID-19
Office Closure & WREA Disconnect Policy
WREA wants to assure our members that we are prepared to provide safe and reliable power during these unprecedented times. As a cooperative family, WREA is here for our membership and we will get through this together. WREA has taken reasonable precautions and implemented proactive plans over the last few weeks in response to the COVID-19 situation. We will continue to adapt as things evolve.
WREA’s office will CLOSE to the PUBLIC effective Monday, March 23, 2020 at Noon but WREA remains fully operational and staffed. We have made this decision with the health and safety of our community and employees in mind. WREA’s staff will continue to answer calls during normal business hours (Mon thru Thurs 7-5:30) to help with questions, billing issues or service orders. As in the past, calls outside of normal business hours will be answered by after-hours dispatch. Please call WREA 24 hours a day (970- 878-5041) with questions or to report an outage.
WREA also recognizes that the COVID-19 situation will result in financial difficulty for our community and many of our members. WREA is committed to working with its membership individually to respond to your specific situation. WREA will continue to send monthly bills that remain due by the 15th of the month. If bills are not paid by 15th, WREA will send a Reminder to inform members of balances due; however, WREA will not disconnect residential and small business customers for failure to pay at this time. If you are unable to pay your full bill or have an outstanding balance, please call WREA to set up a payment plan. Your patience will be appreciated as WREA’s staff will be working hard to respond promptly to all our members.
Since you will be home more in the coming weeks, your electric usage may go up. Please be conscious of your usage including basic things like turning off the lights when you leave the room or unplugging electronics when not in use or being charged.
Spring weather and other issues may result in unplanned outages. Do not panic if you temporarily loose power. Please call to report outages. WREA’s crews are prepared to respond to restore power.
Please call WREA at 970-878-5041 with questions about your electric service, your bill or to set up a payment plan. Please also take advantage of WREA’s SmartHub services available on our website at www.wrea.org or on your mobile device. SmartHub is a great resource for bill-pay, managing your account and reviewing your electric usage. Simply go to www.wrea.org and hit the link to SmartHub and it will walk you through the set-up process. Members may continue to pay by mail or in the drop-box located outside WREA’s east-facing office door. WREA will continue to process the mail each day and regularly check the drop-box.
